How Thrive at Work has impacted the organisation: Participation in the Thrive at Work programme has had a significant and positive impact on employee wellbeing. Staff have become more understanding of each other’s needs and more open to learning, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. Teams are now more connected and cohesive, with colleagues demonstrating a greater willingness to support one another, regardless of the challenges they face. This strengthened sense of teamwork has been reinforced by an environment where open conversations about health and wellbeing are encouraged.
One notable outcome has been the increased willingness of employees to seek medical support when needed. Staff are now proactively accessing musculoskeletal support rather than waiting until issues escalate, contributing to a measurable reduction in sickness absence. This demonstrates the programme’s success in promoting early intervention and self-care, helping to maintain a healthier and more engaged workforce.
In addition to physical health improvements, Thrive at Work initiatives have also influenced lifestyle choices. Employees responded positively to alcohol-free samples provided as part of an alcohol awareness campaign, which included a unit tracker and training to highlight the risks of alcohol misuse. One employee shared how the campaign helped them recognise that their alcohol consumption was higher than they had realised. As a result, they made meaningful lifestyle changes, reducing their intake and actively choosing alcohol-free alternatives.
The introduction of quarterly yoga sessions has also been well received. Employees reported finding the sessions beneficial for relaxation and stress management, with one individual sharing that the experience had sparked a long-term interest in yoga, which they have since incorporated into their daily routine.
