How Thrive at Work has impacted the organisation:
Achieving the Bronze level of Thrive at Work has enabled the organisation to establish a robust Workplace Wellbeing Policy. This policy provides clear signposting to a wide range of wellbeing resources, making support easily accessible for employees. It covers key areas, including smoking cessation, alcohol and substance misuse support, and guidance on healthy eating within the workplace. The policy also advocates for active travel and highlights the benefits of regular exercise.
Through the accreditation journey, the organisation made strategic updates to ensure its policies aligned with its wellbeing strategy, using Thrive at Work as a guiding framework. This included enhancing policies like absence management to reflect a strong commitment to employee health and support. For example, the revised absence management approach fosters smoother reintegration after time off, helping staff feel valued and supported. This alignment of policy and wellbeing goals underscores the organisation’s dedication to building a positive, health-centred workplace culture.
Additionally, the organisation championed Dry January, promoting a month-long alcohol-free challenge with resources from Alcohol Change UK. These tools encouraged employees to enjoy benefits like brighter skin, improved finances, more energy, and a calmer mind, along with deeper health benefits such as lower blood pressure, reduced diabetes risk, and lower cholesterol. By supporting Dry January, the organisation aimed to encourage healthier lifestyle choices and provide a positive, health-focused start to the New Year.
Sara Hope, Human Resources Director said: “I’m delighted that Living Space, RECH and Terra have been awarded a wellbeing award by Thrive At Work which recognises our ongoing commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our people.
