How Thrive at Work has impacted the organisation: Since implementing the Thrive at Work initiative, the organisation has observed a reduction in labour turnover, indicating that health and wellbeing are becoming more embedded within the organisational culture, ultimately leading to improved employee retention.

The introduction of a dedicated newsletter to support the Thrive work has further boosted communication and engagement around wellbeing initiatives across the organisation. By offering regular updates, resources, and insights, the newsletter reinforces the organisation’s commitment to a supportive workplace culture, keeping employees informed about wellbeing opportunities and promoting open mental health dialogue. It has also increased visibility for resources such as mental health first aiders and flexible working options, aligning all teams with Thrive goals and empowering staff to actively contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment.

The Financial Worries and Wellbeing campaign also emerged as a successful initiative. Staff valued the practical information and guidance provided, with many reporting that it empowered them to seek personalised financial advice. Some employees felt confident to seek tailored support for topics such as saving strategies, preparing to buy their first property, and navigating the mortgage process. This campaign offered valuable resources to alleviate financial concerns and encouraged proactive steps toward financial wellbeing.

In addition, although private healthcare was available before the Thrive at Work initiative, the accreditation process has led to increased promotion of this benefit, resulting in a marked rise in usage. During accreditation interviews, staff reported accessing AXA healthcare benefits for essentials like glasses and dental care, and more employees are now using private medical insurance for operations, helping them bypass NHS waiting times. This increased uptake demonstrates the Thrive at Work initiative's impact on raising awareness and accessibility of health benefits, further enhancing overall employee wellbeing.

Sara Hope, Human Resources Director said: “The health and well-being of our people is our priority, and we are thrilled to have completed the Thrive at Work Accreditation. Thank you to Mitzi Donovan for guiding us through the process. We have found the process comprehensive and well structured, and it has allowed us to enhance and expand our current practices. We are looking forward to the next steps.”
