How Thrive at Work has impacted the organisation:
The organisation has observed a positive shift in employee wellbeing and engagement. Staff are widely using the EasyChange App and accessing counselling through Maximus when needed.
The introduction of Fruit Tuesdays has encouraged healthier eating habits, with employees opting for fruit instead of unhealthy snacks like crisps or chocolate.
Physical activity levels have also improved, with many staff establishing regular exercise routines following company-led wellbeing campaigns. For example, participation in a 5K run for Mind motivated employees to start training, and many have continued their fitness routines beyond the event. Similarly, staff who joined the steps challenge have developed healthier habits, such as taking walks during lunch breaks and using the stairs more often to increase their daily steps.
The physical activity challenges were particularly well received, with staff noting that it not only encouraged regular exercise but also fostered teamwork and camaraderie. The initiative created opportunities for colleagues to connect, support one another, and strengthen workplace relationships in a fun and engaging way.
Debbie Lewis, Chief Operating Officer said “The Thrive at Work accreditation process gave the perfect opportunity to evaluate how well we support our people and to develop our programme to foster a healthier culture and work environment. We are delighted to achieve the foundation level and look forward to progressing to the bronze level and implementing our health & wellbeing programme. I must mention the fantastic support received from Mitzi, who has coached and guided us through the process, always making sure that we agreed realistic actions that were achievable. Thank you for the opportunity, it’s great to be part of something that aims to improve work and life balance. ”
