Community

At the West Midlands Combined Authority, we have people across our directorates with research expertise. Our research and intelligence community brings them together, to share their expertise right across the authority. We can do this by bringing data together so that it is consistent and reusable. We can do this by having consistent techniques and tools for analysing data. And we can do this by improving how we communicate our findings using dashboards and interaction.  There are also researchers with specialist expertise right across the West Midlands. They are in our universities, in research centres, in businesses, in our charities, and in other public sector organisations. It is our role to use our position and influence to help create a thriving regional research ecosystem. That means investing in better connecting our research, intelligence, analysis and data. It also means helping to train and develop data literacy and data skills.
