BEIS has awarded the WMCA £2.86m LAD3 funding as part of a much larger bid for the Sustainable Warmth Competition funding led by the Midlands Net Zero Hub. Following consultation with our local authority partners, this funding will target up to 300 low-income homes in Elmdon, Solihull and Foleshill, Coventry.
The retrofit programme will look to target owner-occupied homes in the two areas that have low energy efficiency.
Homeowners in the areas will be eligible for a range of measures including: solid wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, underfloor insulation, loft insulation, draught proofing, air source heat pumps, solar PV, double glazing, and ventilation.
Those who receive measures will be able to benefit from lower energy bills and healthier, more comfortable homes.
The works will be managed by WMCA, working in partnership with Coventry City Council (CCC) and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC), with Act on Energy – providing customer support – and two contractors providing retrofit assessment and quality checking and installation respectively.
