The Sustainable Energy Association (SEA) is a member-based industry body offering innovative policy solutions that link building-level technologies with the wider energy system to achieve a low carbon, secure energy future for the UK – benefitting consumers and bringing commercial growth for sector businesses.

Technology agnostic, our members include retailers and manufacturers in energy saving and supply, insulation and heating, and housebuilding.

Established in the West Midlands in 2014, and with its main office located in central Birmingham, SEA has been an active partner since joining in 2020 – providing invaluable feedback and guidance on Energy Capital’s strategy and programme of work, to deliver real change in the region.

Our vision is for homes and buildings to be fit for the future, meaning they are energy efficient, net-zero carbon, warm and healthy, offering occupants improved quality of life, while helping to reduce carbon emissions and tackle climate change. Our members:

  • manufacture and install low carbon heating technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV and biomass boilers, and energy efficiency products like insulation and glazing.
  • innovate new products and researching the best solutions for retrofitting homes to make them more energy efficient.
  • build low carbon homes and provide energy advice for homeowners wanting to reduce their energy bills, and much more.
