DIYYA

Grow your future- More than just an allotment project!

DIYYA is a project in Lye that supports women and families in Lye. They provide services such as counselling, employment and benefit support. DIYYA support the diverse community of Lye including women from South Asian communities and newly arrived Roma groups.

During the pandemic DIYYA took on an allotment and have been engaging a group of local women with the project. They run a weekly gardening club and the ladies use the space to grow their own produce. Building on this success they want to take on another plot and open the project to more people. They already have a waiting list of people keen to have access to green space and transform the unused allotment.
