Social Economy Drive 2024
The Social Economy Drive 2024 consisted of a series of events between 18-22 November 2024 to celebrate the products, services and impact created by not for personal profit organisations.
The week started with a packed out Breakfast Launch meeting with Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands our CEO, Laura Shoaf and culminating in a Expo and Conference on the Thursday and a fabulous Gala Awards Evening on Friday 22nd.
During the week, a series of well attended local events took place across the region.
The week was deemed to be an outstanding success. Over 1500 unique attendees with one third of those from the private sector.

Schools Programme
Career decisions are often made during teenage years or younger. WMCA will embark on a programme aimed at making young people aware of the wide range of career opportunities available in the Social Economy. After all, it currently employs almost 103,000 people and we aim to double that.
