Connectivity is playing an increasingly greater role in all aspects of life for the region’s residents, economy and places.
In 2021 we set out our initial Roadmap for Digital by identifying key activities across five mission areas. We are currently building on these initial aspirations and working with our regional and national partners to deliver, enable and influence the activities needed to ensure we achieve our digital aspirations.
Our key activities include:
- Using resources secured through the Deeper Devolution Deal to address digital exclusion and support our work on improving public services and connectivity.
- Working with industry specialist to drive forward Roadmap activities, this includes the appointment of the region’s first Tech Commissioner.
- Forming strategic partnerships to increase the level of resources available to take advantage of emerging opportunities and tackle challenges.
- Commissioning and using research to shape Digital Roadmap programmes.
