Ayub Khan

In 2013 Ayub was awarded an MBE for his services to culture & communities and his interests extends to international development, with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion.

Ayub Khan MBE, FRSA is Head of Libraries, Heritage & Culture and Registration services for Warwickshire County Council.


Head of Libraries, Heritage & Culture and Registration services for Warwickshire County Council, Ayub is also the deputy Chair for Arts Council England (Midlands). He has recently taken on the role of Director of designing libraries community interest company and is currently the President of Libraries Connected,  having previously worked on library and cultural projects in several countries, including the UAE, South East Asian and Iraq.

Ayub began his career working in children's libraries for Birmingham libraries, where he became the principle project officer for The Library of Birmingham, one of the largest cultural building projects in Europe. He is on the board of The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, acting Chair of the Board for the Birmingham Repertory Theatre and is a fellow and past President of CILIP - the library and information association. He has also served on the governing board of the International Federation of libraries association between 2021 - 2023.
