WMCA present the Future Boards Accelerator Programme (FBA) in partnership with People Make it Work.

FBA is part of the ACTIVATE programme, a programme to grow the cultural and creative ecosystem of the West Midlands that will empower freelancers and small organisations to advance their career through a series of tailored workshops, mentoring, and wellbeing support.


What is Future Boards Accelerator

A programme to support young adults from the global majority to develop skills and confidence to take on board memberships within the Cultural sector as well as train organisations to better support board members.


Programme Outline

For Individuals:

  • £500 bursary for each participant
  • Two cohorts on the programme
  • Workshops, training, mentoring and coaching
  • residential, visits to organisations and networking

For Organisations:

  • Community of learning with other organisations
  • Opportunity for staff members/trustees
  • Workshops, peer learning and networking

Registration deadline: 9 August 2024

Programme delivery September - December 2024.
