West Midlands Creative freelancers and small organisations who want to develop new skills and further their creative practice have been given Grants between £1,000 - £9,000 through an application process to support a range of continuing professional development needs.
WMCA present the Activate Skills Development Grants in partnership with Smarter Society and Culture Central.
Activate grants is part of the ACTIVATE programme and has been launched to support freelancers, micro and small organisations in the West Midlands Creative and Cultural sectors to fund skills development projects and support the development of skills across the region.
What is Activate Grants
Activate Skills Development Grants looks at unlocking skills, which will provide future growth and development opportunities for individual artists, freelancers, micro-enterprises and small organisations.
The grant programme will consider all types of skills development of continuous professional development (CPD) from any specific discipline with the creative and cultural sectors.
Key information & Communications
Applicants can be at any stage of their creative careers, from emerging to established practitioners, however you must be; a freelancer or a small organisation operating within the creative or cultural sectors, based in the West Midlands and able to complete all funded activities by 13 December 2024.
If you are a recipient of an ACTIVATE Grant and you wish to verbally credit West Midlands Combined Authority, please quote the following:
"Funded through the West Midlands Combined Authority, HM Government Commonwealth Games Legacy Funding".
