A total of £4.1m will be invested to enhance the regional legacy for arts and culture following the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The region’s cultural sector played a key part in making the Commonwealth Games a memorable event through the opening ceremonies and the cultural festival.
The legacy fund for culture and heritage is aimed at making our cultural offer more accessible and enhancing the role that arts, culture and heritage can play in creating great places to live, work and play.
This will be delivered through:
- Grants to our seven constituent local authorities to support creative commissions and place-based work.
- A cultural sector-specific skills and business support programme.
- Grants to support international cultural and artistic exchange.
- Developing strategic plans across the region to make it easier for us to attract more investment and work better together.
More information will be published this autumn.
