What is Thrive into Work?
Thrive into Work helps people with health conditions into work.
We are proud to support GP practices in Dudley, Walsall, Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby,
Sandwell, Solihull and Wolverhampton with improving the well-being of their patients
through job placement services.
Patients referred to the Thrive into Work programme will receive:
- One-to-one support to suit your patients needs and employment goals
- Advice on benefits to find out if being in work could increase your patients income
- Help with finding your patient a job if they are not currently in paid employment
- Help with retaining a job, or looking for alternative employment, if your patient is off sick
- Continued support once they have started in a job
- Help talking to their employer about their needs at work
- Regular and ongoing support online or by phone

Thrive into Work offers a unique approach to employment support, by empowering people living with health conditions to find suitable and satisfying work.

Research suggests that being in regular work has positive effects for a person's health. If your patient has a health condition, being in work can help them regain confidence, independence and sense of purpose.

In Fact, 55% of Thrive into Work patients who got a job became less reliant on primary care services.

What kind of patients should I refer to this service?
You should consider referring a patient to Thrive into Work if they are:
- Aged 18 or over
- Are currently out of work, or at risk of leaving work due to sickness
- Have problems finding work, or staying in a job, because of their health. This can be their physical health or their mental health
- You are a GP in Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Rugby, Walsall or Wolverhampton
Our specialist pathway can provide support if they have:
- A learning disability or difficulty
- A neurodevelopment disorder, for example ADHD, autism
Or they are:
- Receiving support via a Community Sentence Treatment Requirement order
- Receiving support from a Liaison and Diversion service
- At risk of losing their home or living in unstable accommodation

Patient success stories
